Waking up of Inspire 1 battery that has gone into hibernation

Just had an i1 battery which refuse to wake up after going into hibernation. Tried charging it, and it won’t charge. When a charger is connected, the forth LED just blink non-stop and no charging takes place. This usually happens to old batteries which has not gotten the latest firmware updates.

Step 1: Battery Cover removal

Step 2: Seperate the battery PCB from the cover and then remove the white connector. The top middle white connector as shown in the pic.

Step 3: Connect the battery to the charger for about 45min, while the PCB is disconnect from the battery pack.  Your battery packs now goes through unbalanced charging up to a certain level.

Step 4: Disconnect the charger from battery pack and connect back the white connector to the battery PCB.

Step 5: Reconnect back the charger and let it continue to charge in balanced mode.

Step 6: Insert the battery into the i1 to update the battery firmware.

Now you have an updated and revived battery!

The all new DJI Mavic Pro

Key Features:

1) 3 axis gimbal with 4K video recording

2) Small enough to fit your pocket

3) Obstacle avoidance

4) 27min ideal condition flight time

5) Multi Angle follow me mode without the need for a tracker

and much more…… in my opinion, DJI has trump GoPro Karma in terms of features. Unless you also need GoPro 5 for other purpose, otherwise no reasons to get karma if you can afford Mavic. Oh…actually both products are of the same price (with camera).

It is official now.

We have seen participants who have zero flying experience gaining the skills to fly an UAV without GPS safely. That is an achievement.

DJI OSMO Mobile

OSMO Mobile
OSMO Mobile

Today DJI announced the OSMO Mobile. This device is very similar compared to the original OSMO, in terms of functionality. It is an integrated device where the grip and gimbal is one unit. It shares the accessories of the original OSMO. It now uses the phone camera as the recording device.

One interesting new feature that it has is the Active Track technology which will automatically track a subject. With this function, the gimbal will automatically follow the subject that you have highlighted.

For more info, please visit : http://www.dji.com/product/osmo-mobile

If you have already owned the original OSMO, I find that there is no real need to get this OSMO mobile. May be my opinion will change after I have a chance to play with the real thing.

DJI new product release on 1st September 2016

In a few hours’ time, DJI will be announcing a series of new products in Berlin IFA Trade Show.

The question is what are the new releases or new revisions? So far from rumours we are expecting the following:

  1. DJI Wind 1 (Wind and Rain resistant)
  2. A new gimbal for mobile phone to be used with OSMO
  3. A new racing quad
  4. Inspire 2 (Not likely, but I think it will be nice that they update the Inspire 1)

Do stay tune and will give a more detailed report when the products are officially announced.
